Our chefs

Meet our friendly, English-speaking hosts and chefs for informal and fun classes and enjoy your creations at the table.

Classes can be held by experienced professional chefs or by a local “mamma” who are willing to share their old practices with our guests.

 

Locations

Cooking venues can be professional kitchens of restaurants or in farmhouses, private homes or even cooking schools equipped with individual stations for each student.

 

Most of our classes are held in the countryside and rarely in the centre of a major city: therefore,  transportation is needed to get to these places and a separate quote for a private driver can be requested.

 

Menus

Ingredients are strictly seasonal. Menus generally include four courses and change accordingly to the season, number of participants and time available. Our menu typically features one “antipasto” (starter), first course, main, dessert.

 

Some examples of recipes, meant just to give an idea, might be: vegetable soufflé topped with cheese fondue; local egg-pasta “tajarin” or risotto; roasted pork with hazelnut sauce or braised beef cooked slowly in wine; traditional “bonet” (similar to a flan made from eggs, milk, amaretti cookies and  cocoa powder).

 

Rate

  • from 90 € to 175 € per person;
  • discounted rates available for groups of at least 8 guests;
  • FREE OF CHARGE for babies up to 4 y.o.;
  • 35 € for kids from 5 to 17 y.o. accompanied by 2 adults.

The rate includes

  • the class (about 2.5 hours) and recipes to take home;
  • four-course lunch with wine (2 glasses per person), water and coffee included.

The rate does not include

Cooking class in a Barolo winery

Truly an exclusive experience which combines a traditional Piedmontese cooking class with a wine tasting of 5 wines including Barolo and Barbaresco. The location is a Barolo winery located a few miles outside of Alba, in Piedmont, which is set up with a professional, but warm, kitchen where the family and the chef will make you feel at home.

 

The menu of the class (and of the meal) includes a starter, a pasta course, a main course and dessert. During the cooking class you can start the tasting of the first 2 wines, while the remaining three will be served during the meal (lunch or dinner). The experience starts at 10:30am or 4:30pm.

 

Included activities during or after the cooking class:

  • visit the aging room where barrels are kept to produce Barolo wine;
  • go outside and pick fresh aromatic herbs or take a walk in the vineyards;
  • enjoy the food in a dining room with breathtaking views over the hills of Piedmont, in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Langhe hills.

Rate:

  • 199 € per person from 3 to 6 guests;
  • 240 € per person for minimum 2 guests;
  • Discounted rates available for groups of at least 7 guests.
  • FREE OF CHARGE for babies up to 4 y.o.
  • 35 € for kids from 5 to 17 y.o. accompanied by 2 adults.

Market tour

Enrich your cooking experience by requesting a guided tour of a produce market where you can  purchase some of the ingredients needed for the class. The tour can be held by the chef or by one of our specialized tour guides. Please note that open air markets are available only on specific days of the week.

Rate: 130 € in total, per group, for a market tour of 2 hours. The rate is added to the cost of the cookig class.
