Alba Food Tour

Description

Highlights

  • five food tastings (you won’t need lunch afterward!);
  • two glasses of wine and a bottle of water per person;
  • private tour just for your party!

Discover Alba like a foodie! Our tour guide provides an engaging and informative walking tour of the town centre of Alba with five different food tastings along the way, which will exceed your lunch needs. Come hungry and curious!

From Piazza Garibaldi our walk takes you through the open-air market (when available) and it will end in Piazza Ferrero, including stops at some of the most important sights, such as Roman ruins, the Cathedral, baroque architectures and medieval towers.

Hometown of the famous “Nutella” and worldwide known for the International White Truffle FairAlba is a wealth of stories and gems hidden to the hurried glance, which our tour guide will bring up to life.

Along the way enjoy a cheese tasting in a traditional shop which showcases selected cheese producers from the region: goat and sheep milk, raw milk, aged cheese are just some example of different techniques and flavors that our tour guide will point out as you taste some of the finest products with traditional breadsticks or “grissini” from an old-fashioned bakery.

Later, sit in a bistrot where locals go, to savor two of the most traditional starters or “antipasti“.

In a truffle shop run by a family of truffle hunters, partake in a tasting of gourmet truffle products, including a 90% white truffle spread, salami and truffle cheese topped with truffle honey or olive oil. A pasta course (tajarin) or risotto is served with freshly shaved black truffles and a glass of wine.

Our selection of tastings continues in the cozy store of a local producer specialized in salami and cured meats such as the traditional boiled salami. Alternatively, enjoy another typical recipe in a restaurant of the town center of Alba.

Make sure to save some room for the final hazelnut pastries and chocolate truffles.

Tastings order and recipes can change depending on availability.

Please note: food allergies and dietary restrictions must be communicated at time of booking.
