Barolo vs Barbaresco day tour

Description

Wine tour in Piedmont, Italy

Join this exclusive Barolo vs Barbaresco day tour and explore the wine region of Alba. This is a wine tour in Piedmont, Italy, set to compare three wineries where Nebbiolo grapes become either Barolo or Barbaresco wines.

Travel in style with a private driver and a small group of only seven travelers (private tours available on request). We can arrange the pick-up from your hotel (around Alba).

Our Barolo vs Barbaresco day tour includes lunch paired with wine tasting in one of the wineries and time to take a stroll in one of the hamlets of the Langhe hills.

  • Premium wine tastings in three renowned wineries
  • Light lunch
  • Private transportation
  • 8-hour tour with a small group (up to 7 guests) from Alba

The Barolo vs Barbaresco day tour begins in the town of Alba where your driver greets you on a luxury 7-seats van.

First, enjoy a scenic ride to the Langhe hills, on panoramic wine routes winding through quaint hamlets and medieval castles of the Piedmont wine region.

Visit a boutique winery completely surrounded by vineyards where Nebbiolo and other local grape varietals are grown. The cellar tour steps inside the fermentation and aging rooms and it ends with a generous wine tasting including the comparison of different types and vintages of Barolo wine, aged in large oak barrels (traditional style).

Before the next stop, take a stroll in one of the villages of the area wandering around wine shops and picturesque photo opportunities.

The Barolo vs Barbaresco day tour includes a light lunch (3 to 4 courses) paired with wines of Piedmont, set in the second Barolo cellar of the day, with views over the vineyards of Piedmont.

The last part of the day is set in the wine district of  Barbaresco, located on the eastern side of Alba, where micro climate and sun exposure are different than in the area of Barolo.

Enjoy the third wine tasting of the day, focusing on Barbaresco wine aged in small French and toasted barrels (modernist style), paired with cheese and salami.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour.

Great day in Alba region

Rolf O. – Febbraio 2021

My girlfriend gave me the Barbaresco and Barolo wine tour as a gift for my 25th birthday. Huge success! We got to explore the most beautiful sights, learn about the land, and then taste it afterwards. Our guide, Marco, was a fantastic person. Full of knowledge and insight. After this experience, wine will never be the same again!

Wine region tour

Lynn B. – October 2019

My husband and I visited the wine region in Piedmont last September. We were traveling with another couple dear friends of ours, so we booked a private tour for the four of us.
Marco was very kind since the first email. We wanted to visit Barolo and Barbaresco wine regions but our hotel was actually closer to Asti in Canneli. So they set up the pick up at our hotel with a beautiful Mercedes van and the driver Roberto took us around. We visited three wineries, got some free time in Alba and overall we loved our day. Highly recommended!
