Moscato wine trekking

The Moscato trekking is set on some of the highest hills of the Province of Asti with views over the entire region from the Alps to the Apennines, where the Mediterranean vegetation is mixed with the local one. After meeting in the small hamlet of Cassinasco, the itinerary heads off surrounded by hazelnut crops and vineyards of Moscato grapes. Overlooking the town of Canelli where in the XIX century a handful of local families began the production of sparkling wine with the same technique of Champagne, the tour guide provides a complete overview of the UNESCO World Heritage surrounding landscape. Our walk is about 6.5 miles (10 km) long and half way through is scheduled a break in an organic wine cellar, the only example in the world of winery located in a World Wildlife Oasis with protected butterflies and orchids. The wine tasting includes, among other wines, the precious late-harvest Moscato wine patiently aged.
