Truffle HuntING From Turin With Lunch
Truffle DAY TRIP FROM TURIN with homemade lunch
The Truffle Hunting from Turin with Lunch is a 6-hour day trip with a driver from Piedmont’s capital city to the woodlands where Alba’s truffles grow.
Take this easy day trip from the busy city of Turin to discover the UNESCO World Heritage Piedmont countryside, where you can reconnect with traditions and engage with locals. An expert hunter, accompanied by a trained truffle-hunting dog, will guide you in searching for these valuable fungi.
Our driver greets you in the city center of Turin in a comfortable van and transfers in about one hour to the Langhe and Roero Hills, where truffles grow spontaneously.
As you delve into the environmental facts and myths about truffles, you walk on trails through hazelnut crops, oak, poplar, linden, and willow trees. Observing the hand gestures and the command given to the dog, you’ll treasure the unique bond between the hunter and their canine companion.
A quick 5-minute drive leads you to the hunter’s farmhouse, where a culinary feast awaits, highlighting truffles and traditional cuisine. Enjoy a homemade four-course lunch in a rustic yet authentic atmosphere. Delight in local ingredients and homemade dishes featuring freshly shaved black truffles complemented by regional wines.
Bring back great memories of our Truffle Hunting from Turin with Lunch as our driver takes you back to the city in the mid-afternoon.
Martina was great! Our driver was well appointed and on time. For lunch they served mixed tapas with truffle condiments and truffle cheese, roasted peppers with the garlic sauce, fried egg with black truffle freshly shaved, homemade noodles with butter and fresh truffle, and a chocolate dessert. Recommended.

NOTE ABOUT TRUFFLE HUNTING
- For autumn and rainy days, Meet Piemonte can provide a limited number of rubber boots, which are best requested at the time of booking. In that case, an extra pair of socks is recommended. For dry days, sneakers are acceptable; however, trekking boots are always suggested for all seasons.
- The season for the white truffle of Alba (Tuber Magnatum Pico) runs from October 1st to January. The summer black truffle (Tuber Aestivum Vitt), known locally as “scorzone,” can be harvested from April until the end of August. While its aroma and flavor may not match the intensity of the white truffle, the thrill of truffle hunting remains the same. In September summer black truffles can still be found in private truffle woodlands only, not on public land.
