Moscato and Barbera wine tour

  • Traditional “farmer’s lunch” paired with wine tasting in a Barbera winery;
  • Second wine-tasting of 4 premium wines in a Moscato winery;
  • Off-the-beaten track, high-quality boutique wineries near Asti.

How it works

  • You can add the driver in the checkout process;
  • If you prefer to drive your own car, we provide the address of each place;
  • You will be greeted by knowledgeable English-speaking hosts and, sometimes, by the owner in person.

Visit a selected wine cellar set in the countryside surrounding the town of Nizza Monferrato, south of Asti, where local Barbera grapes are aged in barrels with a technique similar to the one used in Barolo. This D.O.C.G. appellation, named “Nizza“, recently withdrawn the attention of wine critics. Enjoy a traditional farmer’s lunch with cold appetizers, salami, cheese and other traditional products, dessert, all paired with five DOC and DOCG wines.

In the early afternoon transfer on the hill of Cassinasco, a small village where the ruins of a former medieval watching tower are still standing.

Visit a second boutique winery and enjoy a tasting of local wines including the Moscato, served with focaccia, breadsticks and local cheese.

Lastly, explore the town centre of Nizza Monferrato for some free time and shopping in one of the historic food shops. Possibility for an extra wine tasting (not included) in the local wine shop.
