Grand Tour of Tuscany

The Grand Tour of Tuscany is a curated 8-day small group tour to Italy’s most fabled region. After meeting in central Rome, our Tuscany trip goes for the first three nights in a luxurious villa on the rolling hills of Val d’Orcia, surrounded by olive trees and vineyards of Montalcino, in Southern Tuscany. From here, we enjoy lunch and wine tasting in a medieval castle,  al-fresco cheese tasting on an organic farm in Pienza, an evening in the scenic village of Bagno a Vignoni, sumptuous dinners, and a step inside the evocative Abbey of St. Antimo.
A fascinating tour takes us behind the scenes of Siena‘s famous horse race – Palio – before continuing to the heart of Lucca, where an elegant palazzo is our home for the following two nights. Our Tuscany tour package includes a fun four-wheel ride to the top of Carrara’s marble quarries, the chance to step inside the leaning tower of Pisa, and a private cooking class with a local chef to indulge in Lucca’s tempting foodie scene.
For the last two nights of the tour, we stay in central Florence in a hotel built around a quiet inner garden and rooms overlooking the city’s rooftops. Skip the line at the Accademia Museum for a close look at the original David by Michelangelo.

Western Sicily & Siracusa

As we traverse the largest Mediterranean island coast to coast, pampered in luxurious accommodations, and inspired by the insight of engaging local guides each moment in our Western Sicily & Siracusa Tour reveals a new wonder to behold.
A journey like no other awaits, from the ancient gestures of pistacchio growers on the volcanic soil of Mt. Etna to the hands of a local grandma making couscous and filling cannoli. Starts in Palermo where, skipping the crowds, we delve into layers of past civilizations, including a walk through the rowdy food market and a close look at the impressive golden mosaics of Monreale‘s Cathedral, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
Next, our Sicily tour goes to the salt pans of the west dotted by windmills and ruins of the ancient Phoenician colony of Motya. From Trapani we sail to Favignana island and take in the Mediterranean flair in a day trip focused on food traditions that draw on history. We visit the famous Greek Temples, the off-the-beaten-path town of Naro, and the surrounding wine region with sumptuous dining.
The last two nights of the tour settle in luxurious accommodations in the timeless charm of Ortigia, the old town of Siracusa, one of Sicily’s most charming seaside old towns. From here we explore the well-preserved Greek Theatre and the town of Noto.
